ANDREW FLITTON
FOR CITY COUNCIL
Andrew Flitton is running for Langley City Council with Achieving for Langley City.
Andrew has spent his career working on the infrastructure a city depends on, including roads, water mains and public projects across the Lower Mainland such as the TransLink R6 RapidBus route. That work has given him a clear understanding of what infrastructure costs, how long it takes to deliver, and how to tell the difference between spending money and spending it well.
Outside of infrastructure, Andrew helps families make sound financial decisions, including families raising children with disabilities.
He is the Immediate Past President of Langley Toastmasters, co-chaired the Langley Chamber of Commerce's Next-Gen Business Network, and serves on Langley City's Community Safety Awareness Committee.
As a Councillor, Andrew would focus on public safety, properly planned infrastructure, and disciplined spending of taxpayer dollars.
Andrew lives on Grade Crescent in Langley City with his wife and their young child.
MICHAEL HYLANDS
FOR CITY COUNCIL
Michael Hylands is running for Langley City Council with Achieving for Langley City.
Michael has lived in Langley City for 26 years. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering and has 30 years of experience in manufacturing operations management, process engineering, capital planning and budgeting, IT, and environmental health and safety.
He has a long record of community volunteering, including 15 years on school Parent Advisory Councils, Treasurer of the Langley Flippers Swim Club, webmaster for the Valley Ball Hockey Association, Treasurer for multiple Langley Minor Hockey Association rep teams, 11 years with the Langley City Tri-It Triathlon including 9 as Race Director, and involvement with the Langley Trappers Junior Hockey Club. He currently serves as Treasurer of the Men's Shed Langley Society.
As a Councillor, Michael would bring an engineering and data-driven approach to major city projects, capital planning and budget decisions.
Michael lives in the Simonds neighbourhood of Langley City with his wife and two adult children.
SIMI RAJPUT
FOR CITY COUNCIL
Simi Rajput is running for Langley City Council with Achieving for Langley City.
Langley City has been home to Simi and her family for more than a decade.
Simi holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of British Columbia and a Master's degree from Cornell University. She has held senior leadership roles in both public and private healthcare, including as former Director at BC Women's and Children's Hospital and former Regional Director at Retirement Concepts, where she oversaw care home operations across British Columbia and Alberta, managing multi-million-dollar budgets and diverse teams.
She previously served on the Board of Directors of the Pioneer Community Living Association, supporting individuals living with complex mental health and substance-use challenges through housing, recovery and community-based care.
As a Councillor, Simi would focus on responsible financial management, transparent decision-making, and planning for Langley City's future.
Simi lives in the Simonds neighbourhood of Langley City with her husband and two young children.
RICK ORLANDO
FOR CITY COUNCIL
Rick Orlando is running for Langley City Council with Achieving for Langley City.
Rick is a professional mortgage broker serving the Lower Mainland, bringing direct financial expertise in budgeting, debt and long-term planning to municipal issues.
He currently sits on the City of Langley's Socio-Economic Development Advisory Committee, working on the economic issues facing residents and local businesses.
As a Councillor, Rick would prioritize restoring sound financial management to the city's budget, championing responsible and properly planned infrastructure growth, and bringing municipal politics back to residents.
Rick lives in the Uplands neighbourhood of Langley City with his wife.
SCOTT THOMPSON
FOR CITY COUNCIL
Scott Thompson is running for Langley City Council with Achieving for Langley City.
Scott has lived in the City of Langley for 27 years.
He spent more than 25 years working in local and regional government, in both unionized and management roles, for the City of Surrey, Metro Vancouver and the Township of Langley, primarily as a property negotiator and property department manager. He began his career in public works, building and maintaining road and water infrastructure.
As a Councillor, Scott would focus on managing property tax increases, ensuring accountability in major planning decisions, negotiating a responsible transition to RCMP policing, and preparing for public safety needs ahead of the 2029 SkyTrain extension.
Scott lives in the Blacklock neighbourhood of Langley City with his wife, where they raised their daughter.
